Growing with Akura
AI can support a hiring decision without making the reasoning impossible to understand.
Credo is building explainable artificial intelligence for recruitment.
The technology is intended to help organisations understand the factors behind AI-supported recommendations, keep human judgement in command and maintain a clearer account of how hiring decisions are reached.
The company
Credo is building recruitment technology for organisations that want the benefits of artificial intelligence without surrendering their ability to understand and take responsibility for the decision.
The product supports the people making hiring decisions rather than asking them to rely on a recommendation they cannot properly examine.
The inflection point
Artificial intelligence is becoming more involved in employment decisions while European organisations face growing scrutiny around how those systems are used.
Employers need speed and consistency, but they also need clearer reasoning, human oversight and a defensible record of how decisions have been reached.
Many competing products were not built with those requirements at the centre. Credo was.
What Akura saw
The company’s long-term opportunity was broader than its most credible first product.
Trying to build the entire hiring environment at once would have increased the amount of work before Credo had reached enough users and evidence.
Recruiters offered a focused entrance into the market. They already work directly with candidate information and are accountable for decisions made with AI-supported tools.
Beginning there allows Credo to prove the product before expanding towards a wider hiring portal serving employers and candidates.
What we built together
Akura contributes selected operating work across:
- Product strategy and initial-market focus
- Positioning and buyer communication
- Go-to-market and commercial execution
- Sales discipline and customer learning
- Expansion planning from recruiter tool to wider portal
What changed
Credo now has a more focused first customer and a clearer sequence for building the larger company.
The immediate opportunity is a product for recruiters. The wider opportunity is a more transparent hiring environment in which employers and candidates can interact with greater clarity and accountability.
Explainability remains the foundation connecting both stages.
What comes next
Credo must prove the recruiter product with real users, understand where explainability creates the greatest practical value and develop a commercial model around repeated use.
The evidence from that market will determine when and how the company expands into the wider portal.
